Today, on this last day of 2023, I was in Admiral Cove in Port Dickson with my family, a favorite haunt of mine which I used to spend my time as a corporate leader some 29 years ago. Here was where I used to , strategize, plan and reflect as I watched the many yachts in the marina overlooking the calm waters.
I caught myself doing the same as I reflected with nostalgia on 2023 and thinking about what I should be writing to my coaching community for 2024.
Wow, I have I indeed built a vibrant coaching community that I envisioned building 20 years ago. This is a precious gift that God has given me. I always will remember being the only professional coach on this coaching planet but today, wow, so pleased that i have the company of so many thousands of them now. And I know it will continue to grow by at least 10% in all its aspects for at least another 5 years.
To you coaches, I wanna say that what I have learned in all these years is, achieving success is easier than achieving its sustainability. You see, during these 20 years I have seen coaches and coaching organizations come and go.
Some have become much smaller, some simply vanished off, while others keep growing from strength to strength. The key to sustainable success sustainability is about staying passionate, staying focused and staying attuned to the evolving needs of fast changing coaching landscape.
Definitely, we coaches are in the right industry. It has tons of opportunities. But turning them into your reality is another matter. My call to coaches is not to treat Coaching as only a profession but a calling that requires us to grow in the 3 Cs of character (integrity and gratitude), chemistry (relationship with people) and competency (staying relevant).
I will continue to lead in my own coaching arena until I can’t do it no more. Till then I will continue to support leaders to become the best coaches, ever. into not just coaches, but successful long term ones.
Wishing you a joyful and blessed holiday season and a great year to come. God Bless!
